Marian Rivera Will Have A Special Rendezvous With Dingdong Dantes In The U.S.

MARIAN RIVERA left yesterday for a series of shows with Alden Richards, Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid at L.A. Sanfo, San Diego, Las Vegas in U.S. Her new musical dance show, “Marian”, will start airing on June 21, after “Vampire ang Daddy Ko” and before “Magpakailanman”, and she’ll still be in the U.S. by then. So before her departure, GMA-7 hosted a presscon for her last Tuesday. She did a dance number before the Q&A and her co-star, Julie Anne San Jose (who’ll have her own singing segment), did a song number. “Marian” will relive the glory days of musical shows then led by Gov. Vilma Santos and Maricel Soriano, who are her first guests in her pilot show.

“Ako mismo ang nag-invite sa kanila dahil sila ang inspiration ko rito at talagang tinitingala ko sila,” says Marian. “Labis-labis ang pasasalamat ko’t pinagbigyan nila ako at sumayaw pa sila with me. Pinaghandaan ko talaga yun at dream come true for me na makasama sila ngayon dahil talagang pinanonood ko ang dance numbers nila noon. Tumatak talaga sila sa’kin at sa publiko ang pagsasayaw nila.”

Did she take formal dance lessons? “Hindi. Hilig ko lang talaga ever since. Pero nag-aral ako ng Zumba. Sa dance numbers ko rito, tinutulungan ako ng mga dancers na kasama ko like Adlib and Hotlegs and siempre, our choreographer, si Tita Geleen Eugenio. Lahat ng klase ng sayaw, gagawin ko rito, from hiphop, yung gumigiling ako, pati lifting, yung inihahagis ako at tuma-tumbling. Meron din kaming big production numbers, all beautifully executed by Direk Louie Ignacio.”

They later showed on the big screen her interpretation of Marilyn Monroe’s “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” with her wearing a blonde wig and it’s very entertaining. Her other guests in the show are Michael V, Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista and a reunion of the SexBomb Dancers. Will Dingdong Dantes be a guest in her show?

“Siempre! Hindi puedeng hindi dahil dati siyang member ng Abstract Dancers. Ibabalik natin yun. Sasayaw kami ng Dirty Dancing.”

Dingdong is also going to Chicago to promote GMA Pinoy TV? Will they be seeing each other in the U.S.? “Yes, nakiusap ako at pumayag naman sila. Kaya, magde-date kami roon. Wag nyo na itanong kunsaan at secret.”
