Ogie Alcasid Excited To Inherit Hosting TV5's 'Let's Ask Pilipinas' From Aga Muhlach

OGIE ALCASID came home last Wednesday night from a concert tour in the U.S. Thursday, he taped four episodes of “Let’s Ask Pilipinas” where he’s the new host. Friday, he left for Bali, Indonesia with his wife, son and parents (plus his daughters and ex-wife from Australia) for a grand 10-day vacation. TV5 formally presented him to the press before he left. Did he ask Aga Muhlach’s permission before inheriting “Let’s Ask Pilipinas”?

“No, walang chance kasi nasa U.S. ako,” he says. “I’m a good soldier. Sinabi ng management gawin ko ito, so heto. Ito ang kapalit ng ‘Confessions of a Torpe’ which just ended. It did really well so baka magkaroon daw ng Part 2. I really watch ‘Let’s Ask Pilipinas’ at masaya siya. I even asked my wife Regine about hosting it and she said, okay yan, maganda at masaya yan. At least, after mag-comedian sa ‘Torpe’, host naman ako ngayon dito. This is another blessing for me along with my other show, ‘Tropa Mo Ko Unli’ where I do Battle of the Brainless. May konting changes lang kasi kakanta ako sa ‘Let’s Talk Pilipinas’. And it’s now aired Monday to Friday at 11:15 am at 45 minutes na, hindi half hour lang.”

The guests in the four episodes he taped are celebrities. For Monday, it’s OPM singers like Pops Fernandez, Jaya and Noel Cabangon. Tuesday, it’s PBA legends like Ronnie Magsanoc and Nelson Asaytono. Wednesday, it’s beauty queens like Melanie Marquez, Venus Raj and Janina San Miguel. Thursday, it’s wives of PBA players like Danica Sotto (wife of Mark Pingris), LJ Moreno (wife of Jimmy Alapag), and the wives of Gary David and Marc Baroca. The mechanics remain the same. Four contestants get to participate as game show contestants in the comfort of their homes via video conference. There are three rounds and the contestant with the lowest cash total is eliminated at the end of each round. In the last round, the remaining contestant can wager all or part of his winnings on the final question. A player who chooses to wager all his money can win up to PhP 300,000. Catch the new Let’s Ask Pilipinas starting this July 7 on TV5.
