QC Mayor Herbert Bautista's Eldest Daughter, Athena, Introduced In 'Kamkam'

QC MAYOR HERBERT Bautista’s eldest daughter with Tates Gana, Athena, has joined showbiz and plays one of Jean Garcia and Allen Dizon’s daughters in “Kamkam (Greed)”. Playing her sisters are Joyce Ching and the daughter of Harlene Bautista and Romnick Sarmenta, Zeke Sarmenta. She’s 17 years old and is a college freshman taking up political science at the Ateneo. Of course, it’s inevitable that she’d be asked about her dad’s recent relationship with Kris Aquino, but she refuses to make any comment about it.

“Hindi naman po ako involved doon,” she says. “Basta kung ano yung nangyayari sa family, sa family na lang po namin and I’ll just stay strong for my family.”



Her younger brother Harvey is also now in showbiz as part of “Goin Bulilit”. “Nauna lang siya pero ako yung talagang may pangarap na mag-artista. Bata pa ko, gusto ko na talaga umarte. Pero ayoko namang ipilit ang sarili ko. But I’ve done a lot of acting workshops and tried doing plays in school. Ngayon, supportive naman po ang mom and dad ko. I’m lucky ang first movie ko, itong ‘Kamkam’ kasi magaling ang director namin, si Joel Lamangan, at puro magagaling din ang mga artistang nakasama ko. It’s a blessing and great learning experience for me. But my studies remain my priority. Yun ang usapan namin ng parents ko. Nataon lang, nung i-shoot itong ‘Kamkam’, bakasyon po ako sa school. Pero kung merong acting offers, maisisingit naman po yun siguro.”
