ZANJOE MARUDO feels he’s being pressured each time he faces the press because they’re always asking him as to when he will wed Bea Alonzo. “Ang dali lang magpakasal, mas mahirap yung mangyayari after that at yun ang gusto kong mas paghandaan muna namin,” he says. “Mas importante ang marriage kaysa sa wedding. Basta sa ngayon, happy kami with what we have at hindi kami nagmamadali.”
He’s also happy with his career. After the hit soap “Anna Liza”, he’s now in not just one but two new movies. He has finished “My Illegal Wife” with Pokwang which will be shown on June 11. He’s also now shooting the horror flick, “Maria Leonora Theresa”, with Iza Calzado and Jodi Santamaria, directed by Wenn Deramas. In “My Illegal Wife”, it’s his first time to work with Direk Tony Y. Reyes, who said Zanjoe reminds him of a young Vic Sotto. “Coming from him na regular director ni Bossing Vic, it’s really a big compliment. Kami nga nina Empoy Marquez at Edgar Allan Guzman bilang magkakaibigan dito sa ‘My Illegal Wife’, ang atake namin sa roles namin para kaming Tito, Vic and Joey.”
How is it to have Pokwang as his leading lady?
In real life, would he fall for someone like Pokwang?
