“It took more than a year kasi to finish ‘Trophy Wife’ as we have to reshoot everything,” he says. “But it’s worth the long wait. I’m really proud of this movie. Nabasa ko pa lang ang script nito, gandang-ganda na ako. I did ‘The Janitor’ naman as the director is my friend, Direk Mike Tuviera, with whom I worked in ‘Kidlat’ for TV5. Holdaper ako ng banko rito so it’s something different for me.”
There are efforts to link him to Kris Aquino because they were seen watching a movie together. “We’re close friends and yes, we’ve gone out to watch a movie, but it’s not a romantic date at all. She knows a lot about my life and we give advice to each other. I know she values me as a friend but that’s how as far as it goes. It’s my decision to be unattached ngayon kasi sobrang busy ako. I’m starting Season 2 of ‘Amazing Race’ at mawawalan ako ng oras dahil abroad ang locations namin, so love is not my priority right now. It’ll just be unfair for the girl kasi wala akong maibibigay na attention sa kanya.”
As for the possibility of his romance with Cristine Reyes being rekindled because of “Trophy Wife”, he says it’s remote. “Like we said when we broke up, we realized that we’re really much better off as friends lang. But saludo ako sa kanya rito sa movie. Psychotic ang character niya at napakahusay niya rito.”
