At ABS, she was given a good role in a teleserye, “Moon of Desire”, where she was noticed for her sexy portrayal of a rich man’s daughter who’s obsessed with JC De Vera. She was also cast in two movies, “My Illegal Wife”, as Zanjoe Marudo’s girlfriend and in the comedy “Beauty in a Bottle” with Angelica Panganiban and Assunta de Rossi. Bench Body got her as their endorser and her giant billboards now adorn major thoroughfares. Not only that. Now, Mother Lily Monteverde just signed her up as the newest Regal Baby.
“I like her,” says Mother Lily. “Very photogenic. May pagkakrung-krung din. Parang ako. Sisikat yan.”
What roles does she want to play in her films with Regal? “Sana yung opposite ng role ko sa ‘Moon of Desire’. Ang lalaki naman ang ma-obsessed sa’kin. Gusto ko rin maging pulubi. I want to be paired with Dennis Trillo. Nagkasama kami sa ‘Bubble Gang’ noon pero gusto ko sa drama.”
Ellen signed a four-pic contract with Regal. “Naka-line up na ang mga gagawin niya,” says Roselle Monteverde. “She’ll be paired with Dennis in a sexy drama, mag-aagawan sila ni Maja Salvador kay Dennis, to be helmed by Dondon Santos. May gagawin din siya with Joel Lamangan, probinsiyanang makakarating sa Manila at magwawala rito, with Solenn Heussaff. Then she’ll also do movies with Joey Reyes and Ian Lorenos.”
The problem is scheduling her for a shoot since her soap, “Moon of Desire”, is extended until September and they’re taping almost everyday. “But I’m excited to do movies with Regal. Gusto ko na mag-shoot. I also want to do bida-kontrabida roles.”
How far will she go in doing sexy roles? “Depende what they will require of me. Basta maganda ang project.”
Her parents might object again, like when she posed for FHM. “Ay, hindi na sila nagko-comment sa akin. Before, they tell me, umuwi ka na lang dito sa Cebu. But now, they know I’m busy. They even told me, nag-improve na acting mo.”
She was one of FHM’s Sexiest Women but in their last affair at World Trade Center, how come she didn’t participate? “Actually, I was there, hindi lang ako rumampa on stage. I notified FHM naman na hindi ako makakarampa this year kasi dapat, nasa Japan pa ako for an event I attended. Kaya lang, I had to come back right away kasi biglang may taping ng ‘Moon of Desire’, so na-cut short yung trip ko. But I don’t have enough time to prepare para sumalang on stage for the FHM event kaya nagpunta na lang ako roon to show my support to them and to Beauty Gonzalez na kasama ko sa ‘Moon of Desire’.”
How about her lovelife? “Okay naman. Almost one year na kami ng non-showbiz boyfriend ko, si Raul. He’s busy with their family business and he has a tattoo parlor.”
