Lauren Young Has Moved On & Doesn't Want To Talk About Elmo Magalona Anymore

LAUREN YOUNG got a lot of congratulatory remarks after the preview of “Overtime”. She deserves it as she really did good in her role as Jody, the trusting girl used by Richard Gutierrez to take revenge on Roi Vinzon, the head of a drug company who’s using innocent street children in testing their products. It’s a complex role and Lauren is given a lot of moments to shine. She actually has longer exposure than Richard.

The film starts with her and it’s not until after about 15 minutes later that Richard’s character, Dom Garcia, shows up to meet with the unsuspecting Lauren. From the film’s climax up to its end, Lauren just wears a black bra after it’s shown that a bomb is strapped into her body by Richard.

“This is my most daring role so far,” she says. “But inisip ko na lang na kunwari, naka-two piece lang ako sa beach. Kailangan talaga sa story to show na naka-bra lang ako sa final scenes ng movie, so I had to comply with what our directors required from me.”

Lauren looks so happy these days. She no longer gets annoyed when asked about Elmo Magalona. “Elmo taught me so well and helped me grow as a person. We’re very good friends. His mom Pia is now my manager and I look up to her as my second mom. But I think, it’s only proper that I keep my distance from him and don’t meddle into whatever he has now.”

So it’s not true and Elmo’s current, Janine Gutierrez, are at odds? “Honestly, I have no negative vibes with Janine. We’re both very civil to each other. We were both raised well and taught well by our parents. I appreciate her kindness towards me. Ganu’n lang naman ‘yun, eh. Kung sila talaga ni Elmo, I’m happy for them.”
