Liza Lorena Has A Mild Stroke But Is Now On The Road To Full Recovery

GET WELL SOON to veteran actress Liza Lorena (Elizabeth Winsett in real life). She had a mild stroke and to be confined in the hospital for a while. Liza was 18 when she joined the Bb. Pilipinas in 1966 and became 1st runnerup. Then she was introduced by Nepomuceno Production in 1967 as the daughter of the late Charito Solis and Ric Rodrigo in "Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak".

Lizzie was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and well wishes for her coming from people in and out the industry. She wants to tell all her concerned friends and loved ones that she is okay now. The doctor has given her the go signal to leave the hospital but her son Tonton Gutierrez told her to rest some more to make sure she has fully recovered.

She says: “I’m getting better everyday. God is good to me. I should really take good care of my health. I need a change of lifestyle para hindi ako magka-massive stroke. I will miss my cigarettes. He-he-he... Thank you for all your prayers and good wishes. Can’t wait to work again.”

Liza was last seen in a soap in GMA’s “Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas” as Lovi Poe’s grandma. She has just finished shooting a new movie, “Hari ng Tondo”, a Cinemalaya entry directed by Carlitos Siguion Reyna from a script by Bibeth Orteza. She co-stars with Aiza Seguerra, Ciara Sotto, Cris Villonco, Rafa Siguion Reyna, Gian Magdangal and Robert Arevalo in the title role. Opens August 1st at the CCP and Ayala Malls.
