ALISON HARVARD is the runner up in “America’s Next Top Model” in 2009 and the first ever all-star edition in 2011. Last year, she made her first movie, “Insensate”. The director of “America’s Top Model” is a Filipino, Mike Carandang (who also helmed “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierez” for E Channel).
“It was Mike who took me to Manila in late 2013 to model for designer Maxi Cinco. While I was here, I did a lot of work for Bench. Then TV5 got me as a judge in ‘Celebrity Dance Battle’ and I signed up to be managed by Arnold Vegafria’s ALV Talent Circuit.”
So how does she find Manila? “I fell in love the environment, the work place, the people. I’m enjoying my stay so much I gave up my place in California and I now consider the Philippines as my home.”
Alison is originally from Spring, Texas, which is near Houston. She studied at the University of Louisiana then moved to New York as a model. She is now the face of Bioessence, the beauty clinic chain which started in 1994 with three beds but now has 50 branches nationwide. SO why did they get Alison as their endorser?
“As a top model, Alison is a global icon,” says Bioessence owner Dr. Emma Guerrero. “The competition in the spa industry is now very high and for us to be different, we decided to get someone who’s at the top. She’s known worldwide and eventually, we also want to be known worldwide. Spas today don’t have an international icon as their endorser and we’ll be the first one to have someone globally famous like Alison in our billboards soon.”
And how does Alison feel being a Bioessence endorser? “Oh, I love it. I love their services and beauty products like anti-aging soaps, slimming products and food supplements which are all of top quality. Bioessence is a one-stop shop for the beauty and wellness needs of everyone. I’ve been to various spas the world over is Bioessence is simply the best. I’m proud and excited to be their endorser.”
She’s serious in her desire to try local showbiz and she’s getting a tutor to teach her how to speak Tagalog fluently. Aside from being a model, she is also into painting. Bioessence is open for franchising. Call 374-6313 or visit their website: www.biossence.ph.
