VIVA ENTERTAINMENT is very busy these days. They’re releasing “Talk Back & You’re Dead” with James Reid and Nadine Samonte on August 20, then on September 3, they will release “The Gifted”, a romantic comedy written and directed by Chris Martinez and starring Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes as friends from grade school who are both gifted with great intelligence, but later become the fiercest of rivals, especially when they fall in love with the same man, Sam Milby.
What can Anne say about working again with Cristine after their first successful team up in “No Other Woman”. “It’s nice to work with her again in a different kind of material,” she says. “This time, we’re doing comedy at pareho kaming pinapangit dito. Ako, sobrang katabaan so I have to wear a fat suit. Siya naman, she had to wear prosthetic make up kasi pinalaki’t pinalapad ang nose niya. Marami kaming pasabog na eksena na tiyak na tatawa ang mga tao.”
Cristine is so busy. She’s still being seen in “Trophy Wife”, which is on extended run after it became a hit, and now she’s gonna be seen again in “The Gifted”. “Magkaibang-magkaiba ang roles ko in these movies,” she says. “Sobrang aliw gawin ang ‘The Gifted’ dahil sa mga kabaliwan ng characters namin ni Anne. It’s really funny, lalo na noong pareho na kaming gumanda. Nag-reduce siya at nagparetoke ako, then nag-agawan namin kami kay Sam Milby. We have to thank si Direk Chris Martinez for his great script na sobrang hilarious talaga ang mga sitwasyon.”
