JAMES REID’s love team with Nadine Lustre is now officially called Jadine after they scored a hit in “Diary ng Panget”, produced by Viva. Now, Viva goes into co-prod with Skylight Films of ABS-CBN in their new movie, “Talk Back and You’re Dead”, a novel written by Alesana Marie and published on Wattpad and paperback in 2010. How is this different from their first team up?
“First of all, this is not a sequel to ‘Panget’ but an original material na more mature ang story than ‘Panget’,” says James. “May kissing scenes na kami ni Nadine and she’s a good kisser. Mas maraming sweet and kilig moments.”
“All the characters are rich,” adds Nadine. “Unlike in ‘Panget’ na mahirap ako. At ang ka-love triangle namin dito is Joseph Marco, hindi na si Andre Paras who’s doing a soap now kaya hindi puede sa schedule niyang mag-movie.”
James plays Top, the leader of the Lucky 13 gang consisting of new teen heartthrobs discovered by Viva. “Bad boy ako rito as Top, maangas, nagmumura. May fight scenes ako rito. Mas magaling na rin akong mag-Tagalog dito.”
“Ako naman si Sam,” says Nadine. “Maganda na ko rito, not panget. I’m an over achiever here. Gusto ko, ako lagi ang number one and rival ko si Yassi sa school. Ako rin ang tagapagmana ng businesses ng rich parents ko.”
Some folks say they’ve become swellheads because of the success of “Panget” which gained them legions of fans. “No, we’re the same,” says Nadine. “Hindi po kami nagbago. Talagang biglang nag-boom ang career namin because of ‘Panget’, but di po lumaki ang ulo namin.”
“But it’s true na ang daming fans ng Jadine love team,” says James. “Kami mismo, nagulat sa naging laki ng fan base namin and we want to thank all of them.”
So are they now lovey-dovey in real life? “No, friends pa rin lang kami,” says Nadine.
“We enjoy working with each other,” says James. “We’re comfortable with each other, but we don’t want to rush things. Work muna ang priority namin.”
