Manilyn Reynes On Why She Refused To Do Concert With Former Friends Sheryl Cruz And Tina Paner

MANILYN REYNES says it’s not true she didn’t want to work with former colleagues Sheryl Cruz and Tina Paner anymore when she was offered to do a reunion concert with them. “It’s not that easy dahil sa schedule ko ngayon,” she says. “I have a nightly soap, ‘My BFF’ with Janno Gibbs at three times a week ang taping namin. Then I also have to tape for ‘Pepito Manaloto’ with Michael V, so hindi ganun kadali magsingit ng concert. Si Ogie Alcasid nga is inviting me to guest in his birthday concert, ‘Throwback Thursday’, but I can’t say yes agad kasi may taping ako ng ‘Pepito’ on the day of his concert. Invited din doon si Janno, so it all depends kung papayagan kaming umalis sa taping.”

Can she relate to her role as Mommy Lyn in “My BFF”? “Sa totoo lang, hindi. Nagger kasi yung character ko rito. Kaya sila laging away ng away ni Janno as Christian. I’m not like that in real life. Kami ng husband ko (Aljon Jimenez), 21 years na kaming married pero pag may misunderstanding kami, never dumaraan ang gabi ng hindi namin pinag-uusapan nang maayos. We believe doon sa sinasabing huwag kayong matutulog nang magkagalit. E, dito sa ‘My BFF’, magagalit na naman ako kay Janno this week kasi nanakawan ba naman ako ng halik.”

Will she ever fall for Janno’s rival, Leandro Baldemor as Patrick, who’s wooing her ardently? “Ay, hindi siguro, kasi siempre, iniisip ko pa rin yung anak namin. And I want the show to have a positive ending. Kaya nga kaming main stars ng show, we give our suggestions para sa ikagaganda ng kuwento.”
