NADINE LUSTRE says she didn’t object at all when she was asked to do several kissing scenes with James Reid in “Talk Back and You’re Dead”, their follow up movie to the very successful debut of their love team, “Diary ng Panget”.
“I lost count kung ilang beses kami naghalikan dito kasi maya’t maya, we’re required to do it,” she says. “It’s the author ng novel on which the movie is based, si Alesana Marie, who specified na kailangan ng maraming kissing scenes at sinunod lang ni Direk Andoy Ranay.”
Direk Andoy says he’s glad his actors are both cooperative. “Basta ang bilin ko lang sa kanila, read the script and do what it says, na ginawa naman nila. You’d notice in this movie na mas maganda ang chemistry nila ngayon kaysa sa ‘Panget’. They’re more comfortable with each other. Wala nang ilangan at all. Parang sila na talaga.”
So why don’t they push it? “Depende naman yan kung manliligaw si James,” says Nadine.
“We’re very close naman, especially when we’re on the set,” says James. “But we’re not thinking about having a serious relationship. Now pa lang nag-take off ang careers namin, so dapat yun muna ang priority.”
How do they feel that they’re being compared with the Kathniel love team? “Okay lang sa’kin but, let’s face it, we’re just starting,” says Nadine. “Sila, mataas na ang level nila. Sana, huwag na lang kami ipag-compare kasi ang dami ngang nam-bash sa akin when it was said na kamukha si Kathryn.”
How did she feel about it? “I didn’t let the bashers affect me. Hindi naman mawawala yan. It’s part of the game basta pumasok ka sa showbiz. Marami talagang laitera. I’m just praying na suportahan ulit ng viewers ang ‘Talk Back and You’re Did’ like they did ‘Panget’ before.”
