Onemig Bondoc Reveals He's Now Separated From Actress-Model Wife Valerie Bariou

WE ALL KNOW the careers of Paulo Avelino, Jake Cuenca, and even Anne Curtis and Sarah Geronimo, flourished when they moved from GMA to ABS. But not all transferees are as lucky and one of those who left GMA to be a Kapamilya but whose career didn’t progress at all is Onemig Bondoc. He was also a Viva talent introduced in “TGIS” and “Growing Up” on GMA-7. In the movies, he was given lead roles opposite Judy Ann Santos and the TGIS gang like “TGIS The Movie”, “Sumigaw Ka Hanggang Gusto Mo” and “Silaw”. He moved to ABS and became a regular in “ASAP”. He also did TV shows like “Buttercup”, “Pangako Sa’Yo” and “Marina”. He starred in group movies like “Trip” and “Jologs” and played the third wheel in the Jolina Magdangal-Marvin Agustin movie “Labs Ko si Babe” and in the Jericho Rosales-Kristine Hermosa movie “Ngayong Nandito Ka”. That’s exactly 10 years ago in 2004. After that, he faded back into oblivion. He married French-Filipina model-actress Valerie Bariou, who’s biggest role was in the Chito Rono musical “Emir” as the shiek’s wife.

Onemig was a guest recently in GMA-7’s “Powerhouse” and he admitted he got hooked on drugs and evenhis name was even included in the NBI’s Top 10 watchlist. But he went into rehab and now, at 37 years old, he is into real estate and their family business. He has since separated from his wife but he has custody of their two kids. If Onemig would renew his showbiz career, he’ll now be playing father roles like his TGIS contemporaries, Bobby Andrews and Jake Roxas.
