PAGCOR Artists On Tour This August All Over The Philippines

PAGCOR HAS developed its own stable of homegrown artists and they’ll perform in various Casino Filipino sites nationwide this month.

Among the featured PAGCOR artists are the “Viktors” composed of OPM@PAGCOR champions Joyce Tañaña, Froilan Canlas and Karl Tanhueco; singing Trio “K-Menn” with members Steev Fernandez, Eeboy Quizol and Mykle Benedicto; and the all-female group “Krazy Chikz” who are all past winners of Miss Casino Filipino (Kimberly Pajares, Reynalyn Yamanouchi and Carin Ramos). Admission to all their shows is free on a first come, first served basis.

According to Bong Quintana, PAGCOR’s Assistant VP for Entertainment and Bingo Department, the state-owned gaming agency firmly supports its in-house talents who were discovered through the various entertainment projects of PAGCOR.

He added that the PAGCOR artists have the potential to become world-class talents similar to the performers in Las Vegas, Nevada. “The entertainment and gaming industry in the Philippines is growing and we need to develop our own casino artists. We are working towards that level. We want our talents to make a name like Wayne Newton, one of the best known entertainers in Las Vegas,” Quintana said.

Through regular music training, workshops and nightly entertainment shows, the PAGCOR artists have tremendously improved since they started performing in the different Casino Filipino (CF) venues.

“Our PAGCOR artists are now seasoned enough to handle the CF audience. They now know how to titillate and entertain the crowd as well as adjust their performance to the preference of the audience. Magagaling silang lahat kaya naman hindi kami nag-dalawang isip na patuloy silang bigyan ng chance na magperform sa Casino Filipino,” Quintana said.

He proudly added that PAGCOR’s talents now have growing number of followers. “We have captured our market already. K-Menn appeals to Bingo enthusiasts composed mostly of middle-age to more matured women patrons. The Viktors on the other hand attracts varied audience segments like Slot Machine players and table game aficionados. The Krazy Chikz on the other hand predominantly attracts male guests and patrons,” Quintana cited.

The “Viktors” Tour with One Rhythm Band will kick-off on August 1 in CF Angeles. It will be followed by performances in CF Pavilion on August 6, Malabon Satellite on August 15, CF Olongapo on August 20, CF Davao on August 29, and CF Tagaytay on August 30, 2014. The group will perform live the best rock songs, classic love songs and OPM hits of the 80s.

Meanwhile the K-Menn CF tour with OPM@PAGCOR finalist Hadasa Camporaso, will be on August 2 (CF Davao), August 7 (CF Iloilo), August 13 (CF Olongapo), August 20 (CF Hyatt), August 23 (CF Tagaytay), August 24 (CF Pavilion) and August 27 (Malabon Satellite). The group will also perform in the Showbiz Bingo event in CF Angeles on August 16 and CF Cebu on August 31, 2014. K-Menn’s repertoire includes covers of songs by Chicago and the Beatles.

The Krazy Chikz meantime will have a show in CF Iloilo (August 9), CF Angeles (August 15), CF Pavilion (August 16), Madison Satellite (August 23), CF Tagaytay (August 24) and CF Hyatt (August 29). Their guest performers are Anthony Sorita and singer-dancer Sheena Marie Fructuouso.

2013 OPM@PAGCOR champion Karl Tanhueco said that while he has been performing in various CF venues for a year now, he is still excited to go on a performance tour. “It has been my dream to be a part of a nationwide concert tour. This is really more than what I ever wished for,” he mused.

Meantime, Eeboy Quizol – one of K-Menn members – shared that he has learned a lot from their performances. “We want to thank PAGCOR for giving us the chance to work with the OPM greats and for giving us the opportunity to inspire people through the gift of music,” he said.
