The Reason Why TV5 Is Called The Happy Network

WHY IS TV5 called the Happy Network? You’ll find out why in their new station ID that recently debuted on the network’s primetime block. “Happy Ka Dito”, the video, is led by Derek Ramsay, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Ogie Alcasid, Ritz Azul, Alice Dixson with the rest of the Kapatid talents, hosts, newscasters, sportsmen, employees and audiences all gamely dancing to Pharrell William’s popular song “Happy” from the Despicable Me 2 movie soundtrack.

It is really quite a sight to see Nora Aunor, Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Paolo Bediones,the Tulfo brothers, coach Chot Reyes and the Gilas Pilipinas team in a different light — grooving, rocking and having fun in the music video.

Joining in the fun are Vic Sotto from “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, Joey de Leon from “Wow Mali”, Richard Gomez from “Quiet Please”, Edu Manzano from “Face the People”, Vin Abrenica, Alwyn Uytingco, Mart Escudero, Eula Caballero, Mark Neumann, Valeen Montenegro, Edgar Allan Guzman, the Artista Academy scholars and Wendell Ramos from “Tropa Mo Ko, Nice Di Ba”, Juan Direction, Isabelle de Leon, Lara Maigue and Katrina Velarde from the new show “Trenderas”, Raymond Gutierrez, Gelli de Belen, Tintin Bersola, Grace Lee, Tuesday Vargas, Jojo Alejar, Martin Andanar, Cheryl Cosim, Lourd de Veyra, Jun Sabayton, Erika Padilla, Empoy Marquez and Bayani Agbayani.


Full of fun, laughter, dancing and kulitan, the two-minute Station ID mirrors the happiness the stars and the staff feel in their everyday life with the Kapatid network, and they want to share this happiness with the viewers.

The video was shot in TV5 Novaliches and TV5 Media Center in Reliance, Mandaluyong, and in the heat of basketball action of the NCAA and Gilas scrimmages. The video also includes other TV5 employees, fans, studio audiences and bystanders. Leaving a feel-good vibe to those who watched it, the station ID shows that every TV5 program is a combination of hard work and fun, making the Kapatid network’s community of talents and employees true ambassadors for happiness.
