Why Marian Rivera Has To Be Baptized Again In A Catholic Church

MARIAN RIVERA will have a hectic schedule before she finally faces the altar with Dingdong Dantes on December 30. Her dance musical show on Saturday nights, “Marian”, has been extended for a second season so they will be on air until the second week of December. Not only this, she’s now also shooting a new movie, “Bossing’s Adventures”, a trilogy in which she will be the leading lady of Vic Sotto in the second episode. This is slated as a Metro-Manila Filmfest entry so she is expected to help promote it and then join the traditional Parade of Stars to usher in the festival, just a few days before her wedding day.

And then, of course, she has to attend to the myriad details of her wedding. She just found out that her baptism in Spain, where she was born, is not honored here, so she will have to be baptized again. “Hindi raw valid yung binyag sa'kin sa ibang bansa so I will do it in our church in Cavite, where I grew up,” she tells us when she sat on our table at the birthday party of Mother Lily. “Simple lang, but this time, ako ang pipili ng gusto kong magiging mga ninong at ninang ko.”

GMA is also offering Marian a new primetime teleserye but she and her manager, Rams David, didn’t like the material after reading the script. She’d rather concentrate on her dance musical show and attending to the details of her wedding until December.
