Ai Ai De Las Alas And New Boyfriend Gerald Sibayan Don't Care What Their Basher Say

WE MET AI AI de las Alas’ new boyfriend when she offered a thanksgiving mass to the Blessed Mother on September 8. The guy, Gerald Sibayan, who’s with the La Salle UAAP Badminton team, was seated on the same table with her eldest son, Sancho, all throughout the mass and dinner. Later on, when we went to Ai Ai’s house at Ayala Hillside Estates, Gerald and his teammates also went with us and Gerald even ordered beer for his friends. He’s very friendly, and like Ai’s ex-husband Jed Salang, he’s also chinito, looking like a young Bong Revilla. But we didn’t write about him at all because Ai requested us not to.

Then, all of a sudden, some folks discovered Gerald’s Facebook account and he officially admitted that he’s the new man in Ai’s life. He’s 20 years old, almost the same age as Ai’s second son, Niccolo, who lives in the U.S. Sancho is 23. Ai is turning 50 in November and she says the age gap is not at all a problem with them.

Sancho and Gerald are getting along very well. They seem to be like old friends at that time we were with them. Sancho had his own girlfriend with him then. Ai’s youngest child and only daughter, Sofia, who’s also studying in the U.S., expressed her support for her mom and Gerald. She posted on social media:

“You deserve to be happy, Ma! You’ve been a great and loving mom. Sobra sobra na pag aalaga mo samin. Now its our time to take care of you and for someone special to take care of you. Oh di ba, bongga! You will ALWAYS have us. It’s gonna be always the 4 of us against the world, di ba Ma yan ang sabi mo nung bata pa kami.”

Ai Ai told us he asked Gerald to stop playing badminton and just to focus on his studies so he can get a college degree soon and pursue his dream of someday being a pilot. “Kasi kung nasa national team siya, hindi ‘yan ga-graduate nang maaga,” she says. “Madi-divide ang time and attention niya.”

She stressed, though, that she has no plans of getting married again. “Tama na yung ganito. Mag-boyfriend lang. Mas tahimik. Dalawang beses ko nang na-try magpakasal, alam na natin ang nangyari. So tigilan na yan.”

Ai was a lot of priest friends whose studies she helps support during the thanksgiving mass and dinner. “Inexplain ko na sa kanila ang sitwasyon ko at naiintindihan nila. Pati si Mama Mary, kinausap ko na. Alam na niya ang nangyari sa akin before.”

Some people are bashing her in social media because of her new relationship. “Bayaan mo na sila. I don’t owe them an explanation. Hindi ko naman sila binabasa.”
