AI AI DE LAS ALAS hosted a thanksgiving dinner and a mass offered in honor of the Blessed Virgin’s birthday last Monday night at the clubhouse of the Ayala Hillside Estates where she lives. This is the 8th year that she has offered a mass and dinner in honor of Mama Mary’s birthday. It was presided by no less than six priests led by Bishop Honesto Ongtioco of Cubao and with Fr. Eric Santos of Tondo as homilist.
“We also offer the mass for the full healing of my ama, Boy Abunda,” says Ai Ai. “Also of Tiya Pusit who’ll have a double bypass operation (this happened yesterday, Tuesday, according to Nova Villa who served as mass reader), for Gov. Vilma Santos na laging sinasakitan ng tiyan, at lahat ng iba pang may karamdaman. Pasasalamat ko rin ito para sa lahat ng dumating na blessings sa akin at sa family ko. Sana lagi kaming bigyan ng good health. Nagpapasalamat din ako na nakita ko na rin siya (she’s referring to her new boyfriend). Basta nandiyan lang siya.”
We met the guy but she won’t let the press reveal the name of her new inspiration. “Mas mabuti yung tahimik na lang.”
So will she marry again? “Ay, hindi na. Basta okay na yung ganyan lang. Nakikita ko namang mabait siya at napi-feel kong hindi niya ako lolokohin.”
Also present at the mass were Vice Pres. Jojo Binay, Marian Rivera (who Ai Ai calls her twin sister), Carlo Aquino (who’s celebrating his birthday) and Bro. Bo Sanchez. Ai Ai is so happy because Marian got her as a bridesmaid. “At least, hindi ako ninang sa kasal nila ni Dingdong (Dantes). Abay ako, abay!”
She’s currently busy shooting a new movie for Star Cinema, “Past Tense,” with Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, directed by Mae Cruz and with a November 26 playdate.
