CARLOS SALAZAR is originally an LVN Pictures star. He first joined the movies in 1952 supporting the late Armando Goyena in the comedy, “Tiya Loleng”. He also played support to most of the leading men that time: Mario Montenegro, Nestor de Villa, Jaime de la Rosa and Pancho Magalona, all of whom has gone to the great beyond.
He is the only one surviving among his contemporaries. He was launched to stardom in 1955 playing the title role in “Salamangkero”. He says he has made a total of 94 films and he’s turning 84 in October.
Needless to say, he is very happy that ABS-CBN gave him a chance to make a comeback as the love interest of Gloria Sevilla. They even had a back story where they were played by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
“The future for me is now much brighter. At least, napatunayan kong kaya ko pang magpuyat. Kasi si Gloria, hindi yan natutulog. Ayoko namang matulog sa set at baka masabihan pa akong matanda. Galit ako sa salitang matanda, e,” he jokes.
