LARA MAIGUE, the singer-composer best known for the song “Sa’Yo na Lang Ako”, says she got the surprise of her life when TV5 exec Wilma Galvante asked her to be one of the three stars introduced as title-rolers in “Trenderas”. “Wala akong balak mag-artista,” she says. “Busy ko as a third year music student in UP, majoring in voice. I’ll have my recital next year as coloratura soprano. E, dumating itong offer, alangan namang i-ignore ko. So far, enjoy naman ako. Nag-acting workshop ako and I’m so happy ang babait ng kasama ko rito. Ara Mina is my mom and she’s very helpful in giving me acting tips. Ganun din si Isabelle de Leon na siyang pinaka-veteran sa acting sa aming tatlo nina Katrina Velarde dahil marami na siyang awards as a child actress. We turn to her kapag kailangan namin ng advice sa acting.”
Lara is managed by Ogie Alcasid’s A Team management agency. Ogie included her as guest in his “Throwback Thursday” birthday concert and she’s also a guest in Noel Cabangon’s concert on September 19 at the Music Museum. “So many doors are opening for me kaya nakakatuwa. Magkakaroon na rin daw ako ng debut album so I’m writing songs for it.”
“Trenderas” start airing tonight with a one-hour pilot episode at 9 PM.
