Dennis Trillo On The Possibility Of Romancing Kris Bernal And Lauren Young In 'Hiram Na Alaala'

DENNIS TRILLO is very proud of his role as a soldier in “Hiram na Alaala”. “Kasi after my role as the gay Eric in ‘My Husband’s Lover’, complete opposite naman ang very macho role ko bilang sundalo dito sa ‘Hiram na Alaala’,” he says. “As Ivan Legaspi, I come from a family of soldiers. Ang dad and elder brother ko, mga sundalo roon who were killed by rebels. I’ve played a soldier before sa ‘Lost Command’ episode ng ‘Shake Rattle & Roll 14’ but it’s more of a horror film, hindi gaya nitong ‘Hiram na Alaala’ na serious drama. Nakakatuwa nga kasi in my other show sa GMA na ‘Sa Puso ni Doc’, doctor naman ang role ko and I’m glad to be given the chance to play all sorts of roles.”

He gets to romance both his two leading ladies in ‘Hiram na Alaala’, Lauren Young and Kris Bernal. Writers tell him that since he’s a bonafide ladies’ man, they won’t be surprise if he’d get smitten with them. “Puede nga, but hindi naman yun ang priority namin dito. We’re all very serious about the project and our respective roles. Hindi ba puedeng gumawa ng show na hindi ili-link sa leading ladies?”

How does he find the two of them? “Si Kris, sweet na bungisngis, but sa harap ng kamera, seryoso siya. Si Lauren naman, medyo fierce ang dating niya. Siyempre, kapatid siya ng beauty queen. Miss World pa. So, napakaganda rin.”

He adds he’d rather be loveless. “Two years na akong single at napansin ko, mas maganda ang takbo ng career ko. So, natutuwa ako du’n, kaya tinutuloy-tuloy ko lang. Career muna tayo. Wala akong time makipag-date dahil dala-dalawa shows ko, tapos may movies pa kong ginagawa. Kung may free time ako, I spend it with my son Calyx. Baka ‘pag may girlfriend ako, mawalan ako ng time for him, madismaya lang siya. So, ito na lang muna. Kapag malamig ang gabi, nagwo-workout na lang ako. Nakakatulong pa sa health ko.”

He’s happy that his Cinemalaya entry, “The Janitor”, which got good reviews, will be released theatrically nationwide on October 8. “I’m so proud of this movie kaya abangan nyo. Action-packed talaga at puro mahuhusay ang mga kasama kong sina Richard Gomez, Derek Ramsay, LJ Reyes at marami pang iba.”

The movie will be released by Star Cinema so he will go to ABS-CBN to promote it there. “Ngayon lang ako makakabalik since I moved to GMA. Okey lang naman ‘yon. Dapat nga, tigilan na ‘yang network wars na ‘yan, eh. Kasi, isang industriya lang tayo. Mas maganda na nakakatrabaho mo ang mga artista mula sa ibang network.”

What if he gets an offer from Star Cinema to do a movie with them, like Dingdong Dantes? “I’d like that. Gusto kong makatrabaho ang ibang mga artista at direktor sa ABS. Makakatulong sa’kin yun as an actor.”
