A FINAL PRESSCON was held to officially announce that “Be Careful with My Heart” will have its last telecast on November 28. The morning soap started on July 9, 2012 and it became such a big hit it ran for more than two years. Viewers quickly adored the love story of Jodi Sta. Maria as Maya de la Rosa and Richard Yap as Sir Chief Richard Lim, following each episode from the time Sir Chief got Maya as “yaya” to his kids, their falling in love with each other, their tampuhans, their wedding and Maya’s giving birth to twins. How do they feel now that the show is on its last 46 days?
“I have mixed emotions,” says Jodi. “I’m very thankful for what it has done to me and my career, but lahat ng sinimulan, may katapusan. Siempre, mami-miss ko lahat ng mga kasama ko rito at pati yung paggising ko sa umaga na pupunta na ako sa taping.”
Is it true she has accepted the role of Amor Powers in the planned reboot of “Pangako Sa Iyo”? “Ay hindi po. Wala pa pong nakakarating sa akin na ganun. At gusto ko naman sanang magpahinga muna after working straight for two years.”
We’re glad the rumor isn’t true because she plays the lead role in “Be Careful”. The Amor Powers role is important but it’s still just major support to Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo who’ll be doing the lead roles played before by Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa.
How about Sir Chief? How does he feel about the show ending in two months? “Bittersweet. For sure, we’ll all miss it as it’s been a part of our lives for two years now. But it’s good to end on a high note while we’re still rating high. That’s a positive thing. We’ll definitely cherish all the moments we had together doing the show, pati na ang local and world tours we did, the album we recorded and the concert we had at Araneta Coliseum.”
Sir Chief is in Vice Ganda’s entry in the Metro Filmfest, “Private Benjamin, Part 2”, but he says they have yet to start shooting it. Also at the farewell presscon were co-stars Janella Salvador, Jerome Ponce, Mutya Orquia who played Sir Chief’s kids; Gloria Sevilla, Marissa Delgado, Sylvia Sanchez, Tart Carlos and Carlos Salazar.
