Sam Milby Shows He Can Now Speak Tagalog Fluently In 'The Gifted'

SAM MILBY is currently being linked by some writers to Shaina Magdayao and even hints he has a rivalry with Piolo Pascual, but he swears he doesn’t have time to seriously court Shaina. “Nahihiya nga ako sa kanya,” he says. “But I really value my friendship with her. She's one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She has a pure heart. You'll never hear anything bad about her from anybody in showbiz. I'm very happy with our friendship at ayoko masira 'yung friendship dahil sa mga ligawan issue.”

Sam is happy over the good feedback his performance is getting as the lone leading man of Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes in “The Gifted”. “I play Mark Ferrer at ako yung object ni desire nina Anne and Cristine,” he says. “Di ba, suwerte ko namang pinag-aawayan ako ng dalawang sexy talented ladies like them? At very challenging ang role ko for me kasi may pagka-jologs ako at hindi masyado magaling magsalita ng English. Noon ko pa wish makaganap ng ganitong role na hindi ako balikbayang Amboy and that wish is granted here in ‘The Gifted’. Talagang puro Tagalog ang dialogue ko rito sa first part ng movie and I did my very best to be credible in delivering all of them.”

Direk Chris Martinez said he didn’t have any difficulty with Sam, considering he speaks Tagalog with an American twang. “Nakatrabaho ko na siya sa ‘Kimmy Dora 3’ and he was very good in there,” says Direk Chris. “He has a gift for comedy kaya hindi siya nahirapan dito sa ‘The Gifted’. I really enjoyed working with him again.”

“Kina-career ko talaga ang pagsasalita ng tuwid na Tagalog kasi I love what I’m doing at gusto ko talagang tumagal sa showbiz. Nag-i-improve naman ako kasi tuloy-tuloy talaga ang pag-aaral ko ng Tagalog dahil gusto kong maging dalubhasa rito.”

May dalubhasa ka na ngayong nalalaman, ha, Sam! Kaya nyo yon?
