The Domineering Bea Binene & Under D Saya Jake Vargas Set Things Straight

BEA BINENE and Jake Vargas both vehemently deny the reports that Bea gets violent when they have a fight and Jake is a battered boyfriend because Bea is so domineering and he’s under the saya. “Hindi po totoo yun,” says Jake. “Four years na ang love team namin at two and a half years na kaming on, pero wala po kaming mga bayolenteng away gaya ng binabalita nila. Sa ngayon, very smooth na ang relationship namin. Magka-misunderstanding man, nalulutas din agad sa mabuting pag-uusap. Wala nang mga selosan kaya wala na ring away-away.”

He’s now 22 while Bea is only 16. “Dahil ako ang mas matanda, ako ang mas umuunawa. Natsismis ding nagli-live in kami, pero hindi rin totoo. Hindi papayag ang parents namin, pati manager ko, si Kuya Germs. Sobrang bata pa namin at alam naman namin ang aming limitations. Ang nagkakalat naman niyan, yung bashers ng love team namin at gawa-gawa lang talaga.”

They’ve been paired several times on their own, but this time, in their new show, “Strawberry Lane”, they co-star with other GMA young stars like Kim Rodriguez, Joyce Ching, Kiko Estrada, Joanna Marie Tan and Jeric Gonzales. How do they feel about it? “Okay lang naman po yun. Walang problema. We trust the decision of GMA management. They know what’s best for all of us. Basta masaya ang supporters ng love team namin, ang JaBea, na mapapanood nila kami uli on primetime. Kasi ang last show pa namin together was ‘Home Sweet Home’ na almost a year ago na. Thankful kami kasi it’s nice to be acting together again at gamay na talaga namin ang isa’t isa kaya mas maganda na ang working relationship namin.”
