Anne Curtis' American Leading Man In 'Blood Ransom' Has No Idea She's A Big Star In The Philippines

ANNE CURTIS is very pleased with the favourable comments she got after the press preview of her Hollywood movie, “Blood Ransom”, held at Resorts World last Friday. Everyone says she really looks like a mainstream Hollywood actress and she should now get an official agent there to help cultivate an international career.

“Doing ‘Blood Ransom’ is a great experience for me as it gave me the chance to see how they shoot a film in Hollywood,” she says. “I’m glad the feedback is generally encouraging and I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will open other doors for me.”

Her leading man, Alexander Dreymond, didn’t know how popular she is in her own country when they shot the movie. “When I met her, I just knew she’s a Filipina actress,” he says. “It’s only when I got here in Manila to promote the movie that I saw how big she is here, what with her billboards all over the city. I admire her because despite her status, she’s well grounded and has no airs of being a superstar here.”

Alexander really enjoyed Filipino hospitality while he was here. “I have Filipino friends in the U.S. and they’re all very warm. Here, everyone is so friendly. And yes, I enjoyed eating your delicacy, balut. I eat it at breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

“Blood Ransom” opens tomorrow in theatres nationwide.
