Derek Ramsay Excited With The Season 2 Of 'Amazing Race Philippines' That Starts On Monday Night

DEREK RAMSAY is very much in the news these days. His personal battle in court with ex-wife Cristine Jolly goes on after they failed to settle it amicably. He really wants to be given more involvement in their son’s life. His Cinemalaya movie with Dennis Trillo and Richard Gomez, “The Janitor”, is showing in commercial theatres on October 8, but his name and photo were initially erased from its posters because he’s still persona non grata to ABS-CBN whose film arm, Star Cinema, is releasing it. The good news is that they’ve revised the poster and he’s now included in it. He’s thankful that TV5 has allowed him to plug the movie on GMA-7 and he will be appearing in “Eat Bulaga” to promote it.

Most of all, he’s excited with the start of TV5’s “Amazing Race Philippines, Season 2” tomorrow night with its 11 competing teams. The racers are RR Enriquez and Jeck Maierhofer, Tina and Avy Wells, Eji Estillore and Roch Hernandez, Matt Edwards and Phoebe Walker, Daniel Marsh and Charlie Sutcliffe of Juan Direction, AJ and Jody Capili, Vince Aguilar and Ed Chong, Zarah Evangelista and Osang dela Rosa, JP Duray and Kelvin Engles, Yna and Jet Cruz and Gretchen Albaniel and Luz McClitton.

“Although the racers will work as a team, a lot of luck is needed when it comes to the race, a lot of strategy, a lot of hard work and a lot of physical endurance,” says Derek.
“This is actually their show, not mine. You’ll see them cry. You’ll see them laugh. I’m just here to be part of it.”

“This is truly an amazing race,” says Michael McKay of Active TV, the franchise executive producer and director. “This is one of the best races I’ve been involved in for many years. It’s world-class race. It is one of the most exciting. The cast is fantastic. I think from the Filipino point of view, this is a major production.”

No less than 39 cameras are used to capture important moments of the race. There are cameras in the air, drones flying around and special cameras. The show airs weekdays before “Wattpad Presents”, Saturdays before “Trenderas” and Sundays after “Quiet Please, Bawal ang Maingay”. Winners will get 2 house and lots from RCD Royale Homes, 2 KIA Sportage SUVs, and P2 million cash from PLDT Home Telpad.
