WE’RE GLAD that Star Cinema is handling the theatrical release of two award-winning Cinemalaya entries, Carlitos Siguion Reyna’s “Hari ng Tondo” (now showing) and Michael Tuviera’s “The Janitor” to be shown on October 8. We notice, though, that they changed the poster of “The Janitor”. Only the names and fotos of Dennis Trillo, Richard Gomez, Raymond Bagatsing, LJ Reyes, Alex Medina and Nicco Manalo are on it. Someone who played a very big role in the movie is missing: Derek Ramsay.
Obviously, ABS-CBN has not forgiven Derek for leaving them and moving to TV5. But will they also be able to remove all Derek’s exposure in the film itself? Of course not. Derek gives a great performance as one of the main antagonists in “The Janitor”. Too bad he’s totally missing in its poster.
