Diana Zubiri Back On The Big Screen In 'Daluyong' And Still Willing To Do Daring Scenes

DIANA ZUBIRI is glad to be back on the big screen in the potentially controversial movie about wayward priests, “Daluyong (Storm Surge)”, written by Ricky Lee and directed by Mel Chionglo.

“Na-miss ko gumawa ng movie kasi my last one was still ‘Bahay Bata’, a Cinemalaya entry two years ago, for which I won the YCC best actress award,” she says. “Naging busy kasi ako sa studies and I finished theatre arts this year from Miriam College. I also put up my own business, Be Amazing Fitness, that makes leggings and other sports apparel. I was last seen on TV sa ‘Bukas Pa Lang Kita Mamahalin’ and I am now part ng second season ng John Lloyd Cruz-Toni Gonzaga sitcom, ‘Home Sweetie Home’. At ngayon, maganda ang role ko as a woman who has an affair with a young priest, si Allen Dizon. Ang maganda rito, hindi basta pokpok na babae ang character ko kundi may sariling career, titulado, talagang na-in love lang sa pari at gusto niyang ipaglaban ang pag-ibig niya. Nang mare-assign ang pari sa malayong probinsiya, sinundan niya.”

She’s excited with “Daluyong” as it’s the first time she’ll be directed by Mel Chionglo in a script by Ricky Lee and also the first time for her to be paired with Allen. “Big challenge ito for me and I hope magampanan ko ng tama ang role ko.”
