Erich Gonzales Will Never Tolerate Having A Man With 'Two Wives' In Her Life

AFTER ‘MARIA MERCEDES’, Erich Gonzales gets another primetime soap in “Two Wives”, where she plays her most mature role so far as the other woman of Jason Abalos, who’s married to Kaye Abad. Didn’t she mind playing what might be considered a contravida role? “Walang contravida sa amin dito,” she says. “Eventually, magkakabaligtad ang roles namin ni Kaye. Ako na ang magiging misis at siya ang mistress. How this happens, yun ang abangan nyo sa story na very intriguing talaga when it starts airing on Monday.”

In real life, she’s been on with her non-showbiz businessman BF for three years now. Doesn’t she have any plans yet of being a real wife? “Eventually, doon din naman papunta yun, kaya lang, he knows I’m not ready yet and he’s willing to wait. Pero pag I feel ready na ako, ako na mismo ang magpapahaging na ‘Hey, I’m ready na.’ But as of now, ang dami pang magagandang nangyayari sa career ko so ito muna ang priority ko. Basta hindi ko naman paaabutin na 30 na ako before I get married.”

What if her BF couldn’t wait and falls for someone else? “It’s up to him. For me, kung ang partner ko magiging unfaithful, hindi ako magpapaka-martir. Kasi once na nagawa na niyang mambabae, uulitin niya ‘yon. Pag ganoon, goodbye na! And he knows it. Wala nang second chance. Huwag na. Once is enough. Kasi sa’kin, hindi puede yung sitwasyon sa ‘Two Wives’. Di puedeng dalawa kami, dapat isa lang.”

She almost didn’t accept doing “Two Wives” as she was about to go on vacation in Europe as birthday gift to herself last Sept. 20. “Biglaan po kasi itong ‘Two Wives’, so ayoko sana. But si Ma’am Charo Santos mismo ang nagsabi sa’kin, ‘Please do it’. So heto, ginawa ko na.”
