How Younger Actors Like Dennis Trillo & John Lloyd Cruz View Senior Actor Richard Gomez

WE SAW Richard Gomez in two consecutive presscons for “The Janitor” on Wednesday and “The Trial” on Thursday. He plays a police officer who is the immediate superior of Dennis Trillo in “The Janitor” and he’s the lawyer husband of Gretchen Barretto in “The Trial”. He‘s glad to be have the chance to work with today’s best young actors, Dennis in “The Janitor” and John Lloyd Cruz in “The Trial”.

“First time ko to work with Dennis and I like it kasi mabait siya,” he says. “He’s always there on the set. Kung ano ‘yung demands ni Direk Mike Tuviera, he delivers. Kung ano ang demands ng character niya, ginagampanan niya nang maayos. It’s really nice to work with him and hopefully in the future, makatrabaho ko siya ulit.”

Dennis is very open in his admiration for Goma. “Wala pa ako sa showbiz, pinapanood ko na ang movies niya at idol ko talaga siya, maski sa ‘Super Islaw’ at sa ‘Tuklaw’ niya,” he says. “When I learned makakatrabaho ko siya, kinabahan ako, starstruck ako. It’s really a big honor na makatrabaho ko siya in ‘The Janitor’. Sa physique niya, Adonis talaga, e. Kaya kahit sinong lalaki manliliit talaga kapag nakita siya, kasi napakalaki niyang tao.”

How about John Lloyd? Is he also a fan of Goma? “Mas masuwerte ako kay Dennis kasi nakatrabaho ko si Kuya Richard noong bata pa ako sa ‘Palibhasa Lalake’. Lagi pa nga niyang tinataas ang t-shirt ko. Kasi noon pa man, maganda na talaga ang katawan ko. Masuwerte akong naabutan ko pa yung generation nila ng mga classic na artista.”

In “The Trial”, John Lloyd plays a mentally challenged guy who is accused of raping Jessy Mendiola. Gretchen Barretto, who happens to be the wife of Goma in the story, is a developmental psychologist who’s helping him. Enrique Gil, who plays the son of Goma and Gretchen, is Lloydie’s best friend, with Chito Rono at the helm. “The Janitor” opens on October 8 and “The Trial” opens on October 15.
