Jason Abalos Finally Gets Lead Role As A Two-Timing Husband In 'Two Wives'

JASON ABALOS is part of Star Circle Quest 2004. He was one of the first to be eliminated but he has since outlasted winners Hero Angeles and Sandara Park. He won best actor in 2008 for “Endo” but this didn’t translate into starring roles. After playing second lead or supporting roles in shows like “Agua Bendita”, “100 Days to Heaven”, “Reputasyon” and “Maria Mercedes”, he now finally gets to play the male lead in the new primetime soap, “Two Wives”, opposite Kaye Abad and Erich Gonzales, that starts airing Monday night.

Two recent shows also had the same theme of infidelity, “The Legal Wife” and “Dalawang Mrs. Real”. For sure, his acting will be compared to that of Jericho Rosales and Dingdong Dantes.

“Sige, ikumpara na nila,” he laughs. “Wala naman tayong magagawa roon.Yung story, basically, pareho nga. Pero ibang-iba naman ang mga sitwasyon namin. Iba rin naman ‘yung atake ni Echo at iba rin ‘yung atake ni Dingdong. Gagalingan ko na lang siguro nang husto para makita ng viewers kung ano ang puede kong ibigay. Buti na lang parehong magaling ang mga kapareha kong sina Kaye at Erich, and with the help of our directors, FM Reyes and Richard Arellano, confident akong maitatawid namin ito nang maayos.”


About his lovelife, it’s common knowledge he’s now playing beautiful music with PBB All In’s 4th placer Vickie Rushton. He even gave her a car after she came out of PBB. “Sa ngayon, everything is okay with us and I’m sure she’s the girl for me,” he says. “Pero we have no plans yet of settling down. Pareho kaming hindi pa handa. Marami pa akong kailangang patunayan. Mag-iipon muna kami.”
