Joanna Marie Tan, The Ex-Girlfriend Of Jake Vargas, Now Co-Stars With Him And His Current, Bea Binene

JOANNA MARIE TAN says she originally attended the story con for the new afternoon soap, “Yagit”, so she was surprised when she was suddenly taken out and cast in “Strawberry Lane”. “It turned out to be a blessing as I play one of the four leads in ‘Strawberry Lane’ at sa primetime pa ito,” says Joanna who started as a contestant in Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines in 1999 where she was 3rd runnerup. “Siempre, I’m very thankful ako kasi yung ‘Yagit’ is a blessing na for me, but ‘Strawberry Lane’ is an even bigger blessing kaya sobrang saya ko.”

She used to play villain roles but as Lupe in “Strawberry Lane”, she plays a good girl. “Pero may twist sa character ko. Sobra akong ambisyosa, so may paka-kleptomaniac ako. Enjoy ako rito with my co-stars Bea Binene as Clarissa, Kim Rodriguez as Jack, Rita de Guzman as Lavinia, and Joyce Ching as Dorina. Sobrang happy kami sa set at maganda ang samahan ng lahat.”

Isn’t there any tension between her and Bea sinceit’s common knowledge that she was Jake Vargas’ first girlfriend. “Naku, sobrang tagal na yung sa’min ni Jake,” she says. “Panahon pa ‘yun ng ‘First Time’ with Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio in 2010. Hindi naman kami nagtagal kasi wala kaming time sa isa’t isa dahil member din ako noon ng Sangguniang Kabataan sa lugar namin sa Caloocan so busy talaga ako. Mutual decision namin na mag-break kaya wala nang issue kay Bea ngayon.”
