Kerbie Zamora Delighted To Be In A Socially Relevant Movie Like 'Tumbang Preso'

KERBIE ZAMORA is a talent of Direk Manny Valera and he’s happy to be part of a socially relevant movie about child trafficking and exploitation, “Tumbang Preso”, that starts showing today in SM Cinemas. Written and directed by Kip Oebanda (whose script for the film won in the Manila Film Financing Forum contest), it stars teen actors Kokoy de Santos and Therese Malvar, along with Kerbie, Dominic Roco and Ron Cieno (brother of Coco Martin in real life) as the victims of a syndicate that force them to work in an unsanitary sardines factory.

“After we shot the movie, matagal bago uli ako kumain ng sardinas,” says Kerbie. “Naumay ako sa hitsura at amoy ng sardinas na nilalagay namin sa mga lata using our bare hands.”

He plays a rebellious worker and he was beaten up by their caretaker, Ronnie Lazaro, when he attempted to escape. He has won a best supporting actor award for “Zombadings” and the other films he has done include “Burgos” as Lorna Tolentino’s son who helps her look for the missing Jonas, “Kamkam” as Jackie Rice’s lover killed by Allen Dizon and he’s in “The Trial” as Jessy Mendiola’s friend. He’s now playing one of the leads in the thriller “Bitukang Manok” for Cinema One Originals.
