WE MET KYLIE Padilla for two consecutive days: Thursday at the presscon of GMA-7’s bayaniserye “Ilustrado” that starts airing on Monday replacing “My Destiny”, Friday at the grand presscon of Regal’s Halloween presentation, “Dilim”, that opens nationwide on Wednesday, October 22.
“I have so much to be thankful for kasi ang gaganda ng projects na napupunta sa akin,” she says. “I auditioned for the part of Leonor Rivera in ‘Ilustrado’ and I was so surprised when I was told I got the part kasi ang dami naming nag-try out. I felt so lucky and the first thing I did is to research on the role of Leonor in the life of our national hero, Jose Rizal. She’s a strong-willed woman ahead of her time kasi hindi siya basta sumusunod sa iutos sa kanya. She asked questions. I enjoyed doing this show kasi ang dami kong natutuhan about our history. Pero mahirap siyang gawin kasi ang bigat at init ng costumes ko and all my lines are in old Tagalog so I really have to memorize them well para hindi ako magkamali. Enjoy rin akong makatrabaho si Alden Richards for the first time as Rizal in this historical series.”
In “Dilim”, she plays Maritess, a provinciana who came to Manila to study nursing. She stays in a dormitory at the University belt and this is where she discovers she has a third eye as she keeps on seeing the ghosts of two young women asking for her help, Nathalie Hart and Ella Cruz. “Nakakatakot talaga ang movie kasi yung mga multo, lumalabas sila kahit araw na araw, hindi lang sa gabi. I ask the help of Rayver Cruz, a working student, to help me na tuklasin ang mystery about the missing girls. This leads us to Rafael Rosell and Joross Gamboa. Abangan nyo ang climax ng movie kasi tiyak na titili kayo sa takot.”
Kylie takes acting very seriously. “I want to be recognized as a good actress. Gusto ko nga mag-try ng kontrabida roles. I want to be mean on screen, yung nananampal ng bida.”
