Luis Manzano Is The Most Successful Child Of Showbiz Parents Today

AMONG THE CHILDREN of top stars who joined showbiz, no doubt Luis Manzano, the son of Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano, is the most successful. He is very visible on TV and excels as a host. He also continues to do movies, mostly comedies. He’s currently in “Moron 5.2, The Transformation”, sequel to the first “Moron 5” movie that was a hit in 2012.

He obviously has a good relationship with his co-stars Billy Crawford, Marvin Agustin, DJ Durano and Matteo Guidicelli as they keep on making jokes about each other while seated on the presidential table during the presscon. “When we learned si Matteo na ang makakasama namin dito, we all wanted to back out, but they increased our talent fee four times,” he says. “Kung si Martin Escudero pa rin ito, we’re willing to do it for free.”

Matteo says he’s always the group’s butt of jokes but he doesn’t mind as it’s all done in a good-natured way.

So who’s the best comedian among them? “Seriously, sa lahat sa’min dito, kay Marvin Agustin ako bumilib,” says Luis. “Siya ang King of Adlib. Mas funny siya compared sa first movie. Naging fan niya ako after we did this movie.”

About who’s the most well endowed among them,’ Direk Wenn Deramas says it’s Billy who has an American dad, but Luis can’t accept this and insists he has African blood so he’s the one who has the biggest asset as black guys are noted for this. What’s the difference of “Moron 5.2” from the original? “May mga asawa na kami,” says Luis. “Ako, si Yam Concepcion. Si Billy, si Danita Paner. Si Marvin, si Nikki Valdez. Si DJ, si Mylene Dizon.”

How about Matteo? They say it’s a secret but someone said his real life GF Sarah Geronimo will make a surprise cameo appearance. But Direk Wenn Deramas won’t confirm this. “Basta may Sarah, but we’re not sure kung si Geronimo. Si Sarah Joy. Abangan nyo na lang. Surprise nga, e.”

Going back to Luis, aren’t he and GF Angel Locsin envious that there are so many showbiz couples who got engaged lately? “Napag-usapan na rin namin yan as we’re not getting any younger. But we’re both so busy. May ‘Darna’ movie pa siyang gagawin. Then another movie with my mom for next year. Actually, siya ang hinihintay kong mag-propose sa akin. Naiinip na nga ako.”
