“Of course,” he says. “You should not use your job as an excuse para hindi kayo magkita. There’s a report that Sarah’s mom reprimanded him for always hanging out in Sarah’s dressing room during ASAP. What can he say about this?
“It’s the right of her mom to be protective of her daughter, so let’s understand her. But I think there’s nothing wrong with me going to Sarah’s dressing room. We’re not naman doing anything crazy or anything inside. She’s my girlfriend, di ba? So siguro naman I can go in her dressing room. We’re old enough, we’re not kids anymore, so her parents can trust us.”
At 23, Matteo is the youngest member of “Moron 5”, the others being Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford, Marvin Agustin and DJ Durano who are all in their 30s. He took over the role of Michael from Martin Escudero. So how is it working with them, including John Lapus?
“They’re always teasing me, but sobrang enjoy ako working with them. Lahat sila, sanay na sa comedy so I learned a lot from them. Sobrang blessing ‘tong pelikula for me kasi it’s my first full comedy and it’s with Direk Wenn Deramas and Viva. We’re always so happy on the set.”
Since this is a sequel to the hit “Moron 5” two years ago, the story is now set five years later. John Lapus as Becky sent the mentally challenged five long time friends for allegedly killing her dad. They’re now free and their own kids are ashamed of them for being so dumb. One night, they were struck by lightning and this leads them to believe that they obtained superpowers and were transformed into superheroes. Meantime, Becky has escaped from the mental hospital where she is confined and vows to take revenge on them. Also in the cast are Mylene Dizon, Joy Viado, Yam Concepcion, Nikki Valdez and Danita Paner. This opens in theatres on November 5.
