Mother Lily Believes So Much In Kylie Padilla, After 'Dilim', Kylie Is Also Cast In 'Chinoy' Intended For Next Year's Chinese New Year

KYLIE PADILLA plays a girl with a third eye who sees ghosts in her first movie, “Dilim”. In real life, she says she has really seen a ghost at their home in Australia when she was 13. “Umaakyat ako ng hagdan, nakasalubong ko, walang mukha, kami ng mommy ko ang nakakita,” she says. “But dito sa Pilipinas, wala pa akong nakikita.”

How about a ghost from her past, someone asks her, referring to Aljur Abrenica. “Nagkita na kami sa GMA, wala na yun, tapos na yun.”

Obviously, she’s now more involved with her leading man in “Dilim”, Rayver Cruz, and everyone says they have good chemistry together. Is she ready to fall in love again?

“If the guy is worth it,” she then turns to Rayver who is seated beside her at the presidential table during the presscon of “Dilim”. “Worth it ka ba?”

What does she like in Rayver? “He’s a gentleman. Considering na mas una siya sa showbiz, he has no big ego and he’s not worried about his image. I like him as a person.”

Isn’t she worried her dad Robin Padilla might disapprove of him again like in the case of Aljur? “Gusto siya ni Papa, e. Nagkatrabaho na sila sa ‘Toda Maxx’ at nabaitan sa kanya.”

What are their roles in “Dilim”? “We’re both students. Ako, from Cagayan de Oro, taking up nursing, then nakita ko yung mga multo sa dorm na nagpapatulong sa’kin. I asked Rayver to help me solve the mystery.”

How different is “Dilim” from other horror films? “Dito, yung mga multo, nagpapakita kahit araw. Nakakasalubong ko sa kalye para magparamdam sa’kin. Puede itong mangyari in real life and its message is huwag magtiwala agad sa ka-text o ka-chat mo.”

Mother Lily has gotten to like Kylie so much. “Sisikat yan,” she says. And even before “Dilim” is shown, she has already cast Kylie in the next Regal project, “Chinoy”, about Chinese Filipinos in the Philippines. This is slated to be shown come February in time for the Chinese new year. Kylie asked who will be her leading man. Upon learning it’s someone else, she quickly suggest: “Hindi ba puede si Rayver na lang uli?”

Seems like she really has something special going on for Rayver. “Dilim” will open in theatres nationwide on October 22, while her new TV series, “Ilustrado”, with Alden Richards, starts showing on October 20.
