Polo Ravales Loyal To GMA-7 For 19 Years, Now Moving To ABS-CBN

POLO RAVALES plays another contravida role in “Ilustrado”. “I’m Venchito Monteverde, a fictional character that represents the Spaniards who maltreated Jose Rizal and his family,” he says. “Mother ko rito si Jaclyn Jose at inaapi namin ang mga Rizal.”

Polo is with the TGIS batch of Dingdong Dantes and Dino Guevarra. Dingdong is getting married soon while Dino already has four kids. How about him? Any plans of settling down soon? There was a rumor that he and his girlfriend of three years, Shasta Munsayac, already got married when they went to the U.S. recently.

“No, vacation lang yun, hindi kami nagpakasal,” he says. “That was just for two weeks. We first went to California then to New York. We’re at the right age naman. I’m 32 and she’s 30. As of now, live in muna kami. For me, mas okey ang ganitong arrangement. Wala namang problema with both our families.”

What about rumors that he’s moving to ABS-CBN? “My manager, Manny Valera, is still negotiating. Wala na kasi akong contract with GMA. But I’m thankful isinasama pa nila ko sa shows nila, like ‘Kambal Sirena’ and now

‘Ilustrado’. I started sa TGIS in 1995 at naging loyal naman ako sa GMA for the past 19 years. But after ‘Ilustrado’, wala naman silang bagong show for me so siguro naman, they won’t take it against me kung subukan mag-work sa ibang network. Sa ABS, baka gawin ko raw yung ‘Pasion de Amor’, kung magkakaayos.”
