Sarah Geronimo Launches New 'Perfectly Imperfect' Album But Refuses To Talk About Matteo Guidicelli

SARAH GERONIMO just won as best actress in a comedy/musical at the recent Golden Screen Awards for last year’s “It Takes a Man and a Woman”, but she considers herself a singer first before being an actress. Sarah’s music career took the backseat for a while, but she’s now back with a new album, “Perfectly Imperfect”, an album of new songs where Sarah tries new beats, tests her limits and does some adlibs that can be quite unexpected. It’d be nice for her to have new hit songs before she starts her new movie with John Lloyd Cruz and the new season of “The Voice” where she’s a coach.

In her new album, Sarah works for the first time with Canadian songwriter and producer Adam Hurstfield who co-wrote and produced the hip-hop cuts “Perfectly Imperfect” and “Bulletproof”. Adam (who worked with the likes of Backstreet Boys and Super Junior) also brought in the Lebanese/Canadian hip-hop star Celeb to collaborate with Sarah in the album’s bonus cut, “Last Night Of Our Lives.”

Sarah collaborated with Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana in the electronic dance music “Kilometro” and the plaintive “Dulo” and with Gianina Camille del Rosario and Julius James de Belen in “Minamahal” and Julius James and Ricardo Jose Santillan in the hope-filled “Bangon”, the Filipino hip-hop entries in the album. Then there are the ballads, “This Fight” by Kito Romualdez and “Until Forever” and “Kung Sabagay” by Agatha Obar. Hear Sarah sings her songs in a free mall tour at Market! Market! today, 5 pm, Friday Oct. 10; Harbor Point, Oct. 11; Ayala Mall, Cebu, Oct. 18; Centrio Mall in Cagayan de Oro, Oct. 25; and at the Marquee Mall in Pampanga, Oct. 31.

Sarah is currently nominated (her second time) in the Best Southeast Asia Act Category of the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA). Up against Sarah are NOAH from Indonesia; Yuna, Malaysia; Stephanie Sun, Singapore; Slot Machine, Thailand; Agnez Mo, Indonesia; and Ho Ngoc Ha, Vietnam. Voting is now going on and you can vote for her at mtvema.com up to Nov. 8. The winners will be announced at the spectacular MTV EMA, to be held in The Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

About her lovelife, just like her BF Matteo Guidicelli who said the same thing when asked about her at the presscon of his movie “Moron 5, Part 2”, Sarah says: “We’d rather keep our private life private. Sa amin na lang po yun.”
