Solenn Heussaff Can See Real Spirits And Ghosts In Real Life

SOLENN HEUSSAFF wants to correct the impression that she doesn’t believe in marriage. “Just because my boyfriend and I have been living in for three years doesn’t mean I don’t want to get married,” she says. “I dream of being a bride also. Maybe in another three years, but not now as I still enjoy working very much. But as it is, it’s like we’re already married, wala lang yung papel.”

Is it true she also doesn’t like to have kids? “No. Siempre, I also want to be a mom someday. But in my new movie, ‘T’yanak’, that’s my role. Isang babaeng ayaw magkaanak. I’m the fiancée of Tom Rodriguez in the story. Tom is the brother of Judy Ann Santos and isinama niya ako sa province nila to meet his family. Juday is very hostile to me. Lahat ng sabihin ko, binabara ako. She’s very mean, so antipatika to me.”

So how’s it working with Juday? “At first, scared ako. I know she’s a very good actress. But Direk Peque Gallaga and Direk Lore Reyes had a workshop for us para mawala yung kaba ko. Pinag-face to face kami. Sabihin namin lahat ng gusto naming sabihin sa isa’t isa. So I told Juday I’m nervous doing scenes with her. Siya naman, she said, she’s afraid of me kasi susyalera daw ako, but it turned out I’m very professional, always on time and I even come before the appointed time pa nga. She told me, don’t worry, I will help you in our scenes together. And she did. At lagi siyang may dalang pagkain sa lahat. Parang may catering. She feeds everyone.”

“Their emotional scenes really worked because of the workshop,” says Direk Peque. “Yung final confrontation scene nila, pinalakpakan ng audience noong premiere night. If there’s one thing I’m proud of this movie, the acting of the whole cast is so good. Lahat sila, magaling.”

Peque is so impressed with Solenn’s acting that he wants to get her again for his next project. He’s due to make another horror movie for the FDCP, who likes his “T’yanak” so much, and this early, he already told Solenn he wants her to star in it. Aside from this, he and Lore are also doing a movie for a trilogy of acclaimed Philippine short stories for Leo Martinez of the Film Academy. They’re slated to do Kerima Polotan’s story about loneliness and repressed sexuality, “The Virgin”. This will be a character-driven material and it will be a great acting vehicle for the actress who will play the lead role of the spinster in the story. This will be ideal for Nora Aunor or Vilma Santos and we really wish they’d give themselves the chance to be directed by a formidable team of filmmakers like Peque and Lore.

Going back to Solenn, this Tuesday, her experiences about ghosts will be featured in the award-winning bio-documentary show “Tunay na Buhay’s True Celebrity Ghost Stories” tomorrow, Tuesday, 4:30PM on GMA7.

Solenn was just featured as the river goddess Pandora in “Elemento” and also plays Nellie Boustead, a European woman who Rizal almost marries, in “Ilustrado”. Now, watch her real life experiences as someone who can sense spirits and creatures that are not of this world as part of the “Tunay na Buhay” special Halloween presentation.
