Anne Curtis Jubilant Over The Good Reviews She Got For Her First International Movie, 'Blood Ransom'

ANNE CURTIS IS so happy over the good feedback her performance in “Blood Ransom” is getting. The film was reviewed by Martin Tsai in Los Angeles Times who wrote: “More than anything, the film plays like a vanity project for Filipino entertainer Anne Curtis, making her American movie debut. ‘Blood Ransom’ is a vampire flick straight out of the Anne Rice-Stephanie Meyer school, about a newly converted bloodsucker (Curtis) caught in a love triangle with her evil overlord (Caleb Hunt) and human savior (Alexander Dreymon). In a parallel police-procedural narrative, a Filipino American cop (Darion Basco) becomes the prime murder suspect because he shares the ethnicity of the vampire's victims — in present-day West Covina, of all places.”

Another write up narrates the gist of the story: “When Jeremiah (Alexander Dreymon) is caught in the middle of an ill-fated plot to kidnap Crystal (Anne Curtis), his boss Roman’s beautiful young girlfriend, Roman unleashes the psychopath, Bill, to hunt Jeremiah down. But when Crystal refuses Jeremiah's offer to return her to Roman, Jeremiah and Crystal begin a dangerous love affair on the run. And with every hour they're together, a darker deeper secret burns within Crystal, something even more sinister than the killer who is after them.”

And here’s what Matt Boiselle wrote online in DreadCentral.com: “’Blood Ransom’ is a decent watch to those who like their vampire flicks gritty and paced with danger. The film gives vampire fans an adequate slice of cinematic blood sausage, without getting all of that ‘Twilight’ residue stuck in your fangs. Anne Curtis has a strong presence and her gaze is hypnotizing.”

Anne says she really enjoyed playing the role of the vampire Crystal in the movie. “I gave it everything I could. It didn’t seem hard or feel like I was making a sacrifice by leaving work in the Philippines behind, because I was enjoying myself and felt it would be an awesome learning experience for any actress.”

All the great feedback she’s getting on social media for her performance is now encouraging her to try her luck once again abroad in the future and she’s hoping “Blood Ransom” will really open new doors for her in the international movie scene.
