Derek Ramsay Reprimands RR Enriquez And Jeck Maierhofer

DEREK RAMSAY is glad that the shooting of his Metro Filmfest entry with Jennylyn Mercado, “English Only Please”, finally wrapped up this week. He can now focus totally on “The Amazing Race Philippines 2” where he just reprimanded Sexy Besties RR Enriquez and Jeck Maierhofer for what he says is a “disrespect to the Race and its previous racers”. They were eliminated upon reaching the pit stop at Ibiza Beach Club in Movenpick Hotel on Mactan Island. Derek said it seemed like the Sexy Besties just “gave up on the Race”.

“No! We didn’t give up,” RR said in defense, but Derek asserted that they could have done more: “No disrespect to you guys, I’m just saying na the other teams were very disappointed na basta ibinigay nyo na lang. At the end of the day, competition ito.” Eventually, RR realized that if they didn’t easily hand over some challenges to other teams, they might still be in the race. Jeck admitted that they were hurt by Derek’s words. For the 28-year-old wife of basketball star Rico Helterbrand, the race is one of the hardest things they have ever done. She asked for people not to judge them and apologized if they disappointed anyone. Derek’s unanticipated reprimand of team Sexy Besties wasn't the only highlight of this week’s Amazing Race.

Another big surprise is the improved rankings of all-male teams Mag-Ama AJ and Jody Saliba and Mr. Pogi Kelvin Engles and JP Duray who finished first and second. AJ and Jody dethroned Dating Couple Phoebe Walker and Matthew Edwards’ from their back-to-back pit stop wins and won the PHP 200,000.00 cash prize from Shell V Power Nitro+ while Kelvin and JP proved that they are “#MiracleBoys” when they placed second after being at the bottom two for the past three legs. Team Magkapatid Jet and Yna Cruz placed third, followed by teams Dating Couple Phoebe and Matthew, Chefs Roch Hernandez and Eji Estillore, and Nerds Vincent Yu and Ed Manguan. With only six teams left, “The Amazing Race Philippines 2” continues to become more exciting as tougher challenges await the racers in the 7th leg covering Cebu to Bohol.
