Jolina Magdangal Reveals She Was Really In Love With Marvin Agustin When They Were Younger

JOLINA MAGDANGAL looks lovelier these days. Marriage obviously becomes her. “I’m really so happy now,” she says at the ABS presscon for her new show, “Flor de Liza”. “I was blessed with a very caring husband and now that we have our son, I feel so complete. At saka, perfect timing ang nangyari. Yun lang ang masasabi ko sa lahat. Ang bilis lang, e. Kae-expire ng contract ko sa GMA, dumating naman ang offer ng ABS. Nagpaalam ako ng maayos sa GMA. Then ABS signed me up to a new two-year contract. So parang destined talaga ang lahat. At saka nami-miss ko na rin ’yung mga dating katrabaho ko rito sa ABS-CBN. Dito naman talaga ako nagsimula.”

Jolina is turning 36 on November 6. She started with ABS in 1992 in “Ang TV”. Her first movie with Marvin Agustin as her ka-love team was the “Tameme” episode of “Flames, The Movie”. The other films they did are “Kung Ayaw Mo Huwag Mo”, “Labs Kita, Okay Ka Lang”, “Gimik the Reunion” and “Hey Babe”. How come they never really became on off cam?

It’s Marvin who replies: “Actually, naging kami.”

Jolens says: “Hindi, a.”

Marvin: “Bakit idi-deny mo pa rin ako hanggang ngayon? Nagpunta pa ko noon sa bahay nyo sa Tandang Sora. May dala kong flowers. Umuulan, pero hindi ako pinapasok.”

Jolens: “Inamin ko na naman dati na gusto ko talaga siya. Nag- I love you pa nga ako sa kanya, pero hindi siya sumagot.”

“Siguro dahil masyadong bata pa kami noon. 17 siya at 18 ako. Well, hindi man naging kami, we became very good friends.”
“At saka ’yung sa amin dati, parang love-hate, love-hate kami,” says Jolens.

They’re happy to be reunited in Wenn Deramas’ “Flor de Liza”. We heard they will have a bed scene. Won’t Jolina’s husband, River Maya’s Mark Escueta, get jealous? “Hindi, dahil si Mark is a Jolina-Marvin fan,” Jolens says. “Sumama pa nga siya noong first taping day namin ni Marvin at siya ang unang kumuha ng picture naming dalawa. Masaya nga siyang si Marvin uli ang makakasama ko. Hindi siya yung tipong magseselos.”

Did she invite Marvin to her and Mark’s wedding? “I did, pero hindi siya sumipot.”

“I was working kasi then, opening ng Sumo Sam sa Cebu,” says Marvin. “Also, I want to give that moment to you and Mark alone. Kung pupunta ko roon, makakaagaw pa ko ng atensiyon. Gusto kong ibigay yung sa inyong-inyo lang.”
