LOVI POE is still giddy over the positive reviews she got as Shiela, the second wife, in “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real”, which really rated very high. “It’s one show I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” she says. “I had a good experience working with Dingdong Dantes and Ms. Maricel Soriano who gave me a lot of valuable advice based on her own experiences in showbiz. Nagkuwento rin siya ng time na nakatrabaho niya ang dad ko (FPJ) na napakabait daw. Mabait din si Ms. Maricel sa akin kasi nang sampalin niya ako sa show, alalay lang siya and when there was a retake, dinaya na lang niya para hindi ako masaktan.”
So what’s next for her on TV? “May offer na bagong show but for early next year na. Meantime, I finished two new movies, ‘Soap Opera’ and ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll 15’. ‘Soap Opera’ is a Cinema One Originals Filmfest entry. Our gala night is on November 10, Monday, 9 PM at Trinoma. Rocco Nacino and I play ourselves, actors appearing in a soap opera. This is from Director Remton Zuasola of the award-winning ‘Damgo ni Eleuteria’. In ‘Shake 15’, I appear with Matteo Guidicelli in the episode ‘Flight 666’ about an ill fated plane where an evil creature kills the passengers one by one. I’m a flight attendant and Matteo is a doctor who is my ex-boyfriend, directed by Percival Intalan. Ang saya-saya namin sa shooting nina Matteo, Kuya Kim Atienza, John Lapus, Daniel Matsunaga, Nathalie Hart and John Spainhour. After this, I’ll start another movie, a remake of ‘Where Love Has Gone’ ng Regal.”
Lovi is also honored that her socially relevant teleserye, “Titser”, won as best drama series in the Catholic Mass Media Awards. She accepted the trophy in behalf of GMA News TV. “I’m personally proud of ‘Titser’ as it raised social awareness about the plight of our teachers and the state of education in our country. We dedicate the award to all the hard-working and diligent teachers all over the world.”
Tomorrow, Lovi will be a guest together for the first time with her sister, Sen. Grace Poe, in the special anniversary presentation of “Startalk”. “It’s an honor to appear with her. I got emotional nga but I controlled myself kasi naalala kong naging mabait sila sa’kin ni Tita Susan Roces when my dad died and they officially informed us ng brother ko, Ronian, kung saan ang awake at pinapunta kami. I was just 15 years old then.”
About her lovelife, she’s very pleased with Rocco who took her to Singapore. “He grew up there and he took me to the places kunsaan siya lumaki. Nagulat ako as he speaks really good Chinese. Dinala niya rin ako sa Universal Studio. We had a good time. This December, magbabakasyon uli ako. I’m going to Japan kasi gusto kong kumain ng sashimi roon. I’ll be by myself. Hindi siya puedeng umalis kasi may regular show siya (“Hiram na Alaala”) at kailangang mag-taping.”
