Scriptwriter-Actress Raquel Villavicencio Earns The Ire Of Viewers As The Haughty Donya Claudia In 'Yagit'

WE BUMPED into scriptwriter turned actress Raquel Villavicencio at the Cinema One Originals Awards Night. She’s nominated as best supporting actress for her performance in “Lorna”, but she lost to her co-star Maria Isabel Lopez. We tell her she’s so much into acting now. After playing the role of a poor grandma in “Villa Quintana”, she now plays the very rich and haughty mother of James Blanco, Donya Claudia, in “Yagit”. Has she turned her back to writing? “No, I have a new movie with Joel Lamangan,” she says. “Baka magsimula na kami ng shooting soon. Napagsasabay ko naman, e.”

As Donya Claudia in “Yagit”, Raquel is earning the ire of lots of viewers as the manipulative mom of James. Wowie de Guzman as Chito blackmails her to get money from her. She has no choice but to give money to Chito as she’s afraid he might reveal the truth to her son James that the little girl Chlaui Malayao as Eliza is really his own long lost daughter with Yasmien Kurdi as Dolores, who has previously denied that Eliza is their child.

Meantime, Zymic Jaranilla as Ding is so excited to his own dad, Oscar, who turned out to already have a second family so he was driven out of their house. Her mom Ethel becomes a drunkard but Ding continues to be courageous despite having irresponsible parents.
