Successful 'Moron 5.2' Premiere Night Had The Audience Laughing Out Loud With The Five Leads' Brainless, Crazy Comic Antics

‘MORON 5.2, THE TRANSFORMATION’ had its very successful premiere night at SM Megamall last Monday and if the positive reaction of the audience who’s laughing out loud is a good gauge, then it has the makings of a huge blockbuster. They were really rolling down the aisle with laughter from start to finish. The movie has no pretension and is just a series of crazy scenes about the five moronic friends and their series of misadventures with their mortal enemy, Becky Pamintuan.

The five friends are Billy Crawford, Luis Manzano, Marvin Agustin, DJ Durano and Matteo Guidicelli. Becky is played by John Lapus. The movie’s type of humor is anything goes. Baliw-baliwan lang. Don’t look for any substantial or socially satirical content because it’s not that kind of movie. They just make fun of everything and everyone. They make fun of our past presidents from Cory and Fidel Ramos, to Gloria and Erap and Noynoy. They even have a Noynoy lookalike who keeps on coughing. They also make fun of the movie itself and the fact that it’s a sequel. They even make fun of the director himself.

John Lapus apes Kris Aquino and Annabelle Rama. His most riotous scenes involve his various elaborate attempts to escape from the mental hospital, all foiled by his doctor, Karla Estrada. Then he finally escapes with his sidekicks (Boom Labrusca and Manny Chua) by just walking out of the hospital gates with the security guard accompanying them at that.

Billy, Luis, Marvin, DJ and Matteo are all obviously having lots of fun enacting the dumb characters they play. Enjoy sila sa kanilang kabobohan. They all poke fun at themselves, but the guy who’s the butt of most of the punch lines is Billy for his recent “presinto” encounter in Taguig and his being overweight as he really looks fat in his tight fitting superhero costume. Matteo also doesn’t mind being teased about his relationship with Sarah Geronimo. And his leading lady here (we have to keep it a secret so as not to spoil the fun for you) really kept the audience rolling in stitches.
