Two More Talents Managed By Ogie Alcasid: Davey Langit And Qyork

OGIE ALCASID’s hit TBT ThrowBack Thursday concert at the Music Museum last August will have a repeat at Solaire Resorts Hotel Main Ballroom on November 29, Saturday, 9PM. It’s now called TBT Total Balik Tugtugan since most of the songs will be in the 80s. Among the guesta are Roderick Paulate, Janno Gibbs, Dingdong Avanzado, Jojo Alejar and the Tigers and of course, Regine Velasquez. You can get your tickets from Ticketworld and Solaire.

TBT is produced by his own A-TEAM (Alcasid Total Entertainment & Artist Management), which also now manages Davey Langit, Q York and comedian Empoy.

Davey first joined showbiz in ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Dream Academy Batch 1, where Yeng Constantino won. His career didn’t really take up but he persisted in singing and composing songs. Last year, he uploaded a song on Youtube, “The Selfie Song”, and it became a hit, with 6 million hits so far. He now has a follow up, “The Wedding Song”, which has the makings of another hit.

QYork is a duo of Pinoys from New York who does rap music with a distinct Pinoy flavour. The members are Cedric Bondoc aka Knowa Lazarus and James Palma aka Flava Matikz. They’ve previously released their own album in the States, “Let the Truth Be Told”. In 2006, they volunteered in Gawad Kalinga and met World Hiphop Dance Champs, the Philippine All Stars. They did “Caught Up” and became a hit on radio. Other they did “Mainit”, which son Best Music Video at MYX Music Awards, Urban Music Awards and won for them as Hip Hop Artist of the year in Radio Music Awards.

Now based in Manila, they collaborated with Jay R and Elmo Magalona for the song “Qrush on You” that became a finalist in the recent Philpop Musicfest. Their first project for A Team is the dance song, “Budotz”, based on a dance craze that originated in Davao. Their aim is to do a song that will be a hit not only locally but even abroad. “OPM is going international!” they say.
