Xian Lim Doesn't Mind Being Second Choice In 'Bridges' After John Lloyd Cruz Dumped It

XIAN LIM plays a very fat boy in his role as Kim Chiu’s best friend in “Past Tense” and it was a big challenge for him. “Mabigat yung fat suit at sobrang init,” he says. “Dapat, eight hours mo lang yun isusuot. But in my case, kung minsan, inaabot ako ng 24 hours na naka-fat suit sa shooting. But it’s worth it. Nakaganda talaga sa pelikula. Ayaw kasi ni Kim sa’kin dito, kasi nga obese ako. Mas pinili niya si Daniel Matsunaga. But something will happen nang dumating ang kanyang older self from the future, played by Ms. Ai Ai de las Alas, at doon siya matatauhan.”

Kim Chiu says she takes her hat off to Xian as she knows his role is not easy. “Siyempre, lagi siyang naka-fat suit kapag nakikita ko. At dun ko talaga nakita ’yung tiyaga niya, hindi siya nagrereklamo at all kahit sobrang mainit, sobrang mahirap mag-fat suit. Never siyang nag-complain and say ‘oy, tanggalin na muna natin ’to.’ Dedicated siya sa trabaho niya.”

“Siyempre, hindi na rin ako magrereklamo dahil halos isang taon kong hindi nakatrabaho si Kim,” Xian says. “I’m just happy that we’re working together again.”

Aside from “Past Tense”, Xian is also doing a new soap, “Bridges”, where he replaced John Lloyd Cruz who begged off from the project. Doesn’t he mind being second choice?

“No, nakakadalawang taping days na nga ako. I'm really excited with this soap. I’m so thankful to Star Creatives dahil pinagkatiwalaan nila ako with this project which will give me the chance to work with Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador. Siempre, may pressure kasi no less than John Lloyd ang pinalitan ko. But I'm just really thankful and excited and I promise to give it my all to make everything work. I’m also thankful to Jericho Rosales as he told me happy siya to be working with me. I told him it’s really an honor to be working with him and Maja in this project.”
