AS WE PREDICTED, Dating Couple Matt Edwards and Phoebe Walker won in “The Amazing Race Philippines 2”. Both are contract stars of Viva. They won almost P10 million pesos worth of grand prize package including 2 house and lots from RCD Royale Homes, 2 Kia Sportage SUVs and the PhP2 million peso cash prize from PLDT Home Telpad, making them instant millionaires.
The final leg was in Camiguin and race master Derek Ramsay, along with the eight eliminated teams, congratulated them for winning the race. Team Mr. Pogi John Paul Duray and Kelvin Engles finished close-second, while Chefs Roch Hernandez and Eji Estillore placed third.
Asked about their plans, Phoebe said part of her winnings will go to a business she will set up to support her family while Matt said in a separate interview that he will spend it to take back his British dad (who’s been in Manila for four years now) to visit his native England. They would also donate some of their winnings to a charity for kids in Payatas.
The Amazing Race Philippines 2 is TV5’s biggest and most groundbreaking project for the year. It ran for 10 weeks and became famous for its unexpected twists and shocking episodes week after week.
